Sharon LaDay’s career in enterprise and education software spans almost 20 years and includes technical roles in infrastructure management, and operating leadership roles in solutions marketing, corporate strategy, partnerships, corporate development and international business development. She has built a reputation on expertise in go-to- market best practices, market development strategies for startups and strategic alliance cultivation and governance. Using these capabilities within organizations, she has demonstrated the ability to lead cross-functional and executive teams beyond their growth goals. Beyond her roles in formal business settings, Ms. LaDay has also played a key, leadership role in developing the New York EdTech community by co-founding local meetup and startup organizations to bring more cohesion to the local EdTech industry.
Some of the education organizations Ms. LaDay has served are Macmillan New Ventures, where she oversaw strategic alliances and international business development across the portfolio of EdTech companies owned by Macmillan Education; College Board where she developed and implemented mission-oriented corporate strategies as well as pursued, closed and established governance processes to ensure that strategic alliances provided more services to ultimate beneficiaries like students, parents and education leaders; and finally, Wimba where she oversaw technical ecosystem alliances as well as M&A deal sourcing, screening and diligence. Her additional industry activities have included speaking on panels at various conferences on topics ranging from international business development to venture investing in EdTech.
Some enterprise technology organizations that Ms. LaDay has served are VERITAS Software, EMC and Cisco Systems. Ultimately, Ms. LaDay’s record of success rests on her BS in Computer Science from Texas A&M University and her MBA from Columbia Business School.
