Enel Green Power
Mauro Ometto works as Business Developer for Enel Green Power – one of the largest renewable energy groups worldwide – in the identification, assessment and development of the group’s renewable energy projects, spanning five major technologies (wind, solar, hydro, geothermal and biomass) and covering all steps from origination up to final investment decision, with a regional focus on Eastern Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia).
Previously he worked at the global headquarter of General Electric’s Oil & Gas Division as Strategic Marketing Analyst, as Executive Assistant at Procter & Gamble and Research Analyst on engineering and operations within Maersk Group.
He holds a degree cum laude from the University of Padua in Materials Engineering with a specialization in applied physics and nanotechnologies and a Master of Science in Management Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark. He was also a visiting scholar at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Mauro is a founding member of the Rome Hub of the Global Shaper Community of the World Economic Forum where he was also in charge as Curator. He is one of the founders and project leader of Powering Impact, an initiative developing impact assessment models for the diffusion of innovative technologies and clean energy sources in emerging countries. The project was awarded first price and an acceleration grant by The Coca-Cola Company in 2014. Mauro was also involved in the “Presidential Briefings” initiative of the World Economic Forum for the topic “Transforming Energy” and he attended the Annual Meeting in Davos in 2014.
Mauro has a strong interest in energy and sustainability issues, in particular in the intersection between conventional energy sources and renewable sources in the global energy scenarios and the role of digital technologies in energy efficiency and clean energy.
