Mr. Straton is an imaginative and innovative senior marketing, sales, and product strategy executive that specializes in transforming markets with disruptive technologies, reinvigorating brand velocity, and accelerating sales through buyers journey programs. He is currently the Principal and CEO of MarkitWorx, LLC, a high-tech marketing, sales and strategy consultancy specializing in software, systems, services and could-based software-as-a-services (SaaS) in big data analytics, clean-tech, cloud solutions, data networking, Internet-of-Things (IoT), mobility, security, telecommunications, and unified communications and collaborations (UCC).
Over the last 20 years, Straton has held global senior vice president positions for technology giant, Siemens, where he ran communications software and services marketing for divisions with revenues of up to $4 billion. Mr. Straton introduced four major global brands to market resulting in over 60 million in license sales, grew UCC services revenues to hundreds of million of dollars, and drove Siemens entry in cloud-based UCC. As a result, Mr. Straton has received Industry recognition including the Wall Street Journal Innovation Europe Technology Award for LifeWorks, Internet Telephony Magazine’s Top 100 Voices of IP Communications, and has testified before the U.S. Congress on Teleworking. In addition, Frost & Sullivan selected Mr. Straton as an advisor for the Marketing World conference in 2012 and 2014, and for several years, Mr. Straton was a Board Member for Information Technology Solutions Marketing Association Solution Marketing Council.
At GridPoint as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Mr. Straton reinvigorated the brand as a transformational force in Enterprise Energy Management Systems (EMS) by re-imaging how the Energy IoT sensors, big data analytics, mobility and cloud computing could be integrated to reduce enterprise-wide energy consumption, carbon emissions and expenses by up to 30%. As a result in 2014, CIOReview named GridPoint one of the “20 Most Promising Enterprise Software Companies”, and in 2013, Frost & Sullivan awarded GridPoint the Customer Value Leadership Award in Building Energy Management Solutions.
Mr. Straton holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan, and recently received three certificates in Advanced Integrated Online Strategies from the University of San Francisco.
