We’re excited to share that GSVlabs’ CEO Marlon Evans is serving as a judge for the U.S. Department of Education’s EdSim Challenge. The Challenge just announced five finalists, who will each receive $50,000 and enter the Virtual Accelerator to refine their submission and develop a prototype. Finalists will also receive in-kind prizes from HTC, Oculus, and Samsung.
The EdSim Challenge launched in November 2016, and called upon the virtual reality, video game developer, and educational technology communities to submit concepts for immersive simulations that will prepare students for the globally competitive workforce of the 21st century. The finalists were selected by a panel of judges out of an impressive 249 submissions.
Each finalist will present playable prototypes to the judges at an in-person Demo Day later this year to compete for the $430,000 grand prize.
