It is incredible how quickly 3 months flies in Silicon Valley! It seems like just yesterday that we introduced the first Pioneer Accelerator class to the world. Yet, today we are wrapping up our second cohort of companies after a memorable Demo Day at Google HQ last Thursday.
Over the past 3 months, we’ve worked closely with 14 ambitious, early-stage companies from the US, Mexico, and Brazil, and had an amazing time showcasing the graduating cohort to the Global Silicon Valley community. The magic of Silicon Valley is a mindset, one that is spreading from Austin to Boston, from Chicago to Sau Paulo, from Mumbai to Shanghai to Dubai.
For our second cohort, we partnered with Balero, an organization dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in Mexico, to bring 10 early-stage startups to Silicon Valley for a 12-week program alongside 4 startups from Brazil and the US. The companies in this cohort represent 12 cities worldwide and developed diverse products, spanning seven major industries from manufacturing to entertainment, and harnessing the power of emerging technologies from drones to VR to artificial intelligence.
Last Thursday 300+ investors, innovators, and entrepreneurs joined us at Google HQ to highlight these dynamic global teams. Whether we were exploring Cardinal’s educational DIY drone, or being whisked away to view the Northern Lights with Happinss VR, it’s undeniable that the Global Silicon Valley was on full display.
We want to extend a special thanks to the Google Developers Launchpad team, our partner Balero, our world-class mentors and coaches, and all of the investors that participated last week.
